In short, I recommend Zi One Luxury right across the street. I cannot recommend Hotel Don Alfonso due to a highly negative experience with a receptionist, Jacqueline, on December 16, 2025.

This day there was heavy rain and traffic making traveling difficult. Upon arriving, I spoke with Jacqueline, intending to arrange a business meeting with management. I then asked to use the restroom and she responded with a harsh refusal. When I protested, Jacqueline directed me to the back entrance and shut the door right as I stepped out. I complained, and she left saying that she was calling the police.  This forced me to walk around the block in the pouring rain. I ended up soaking wet and, extremely angry.

Fortunately, the hotel directly across the street, Zi One Luxury, was accommodating. They allowed me to use their restroom and park our vehicle in their lot while my wife and I ate a late lunch at their rooftop restaurant.

Not your modern hotel or pristine boutique, expect authenticity instead of luxury. The classic feel of a mid-twentieth century house full of history and character, no-frills rooms built for a proper rest, solid bathroom, great AC (a real plus in Pereira), parking, a good American breakfast, and a genuinely central location surrounded by burger joints, restaurants, bars, and a shopping mall all within safe walking distance even late at night. Chambre immense, bien agencée et équipée. Le bâtiment est magnifique, le patio et la terrasse avant sont très agréables. Le personnel est adorable. Sécurité au top.

They are not open to the general public and the receptionist was very rude!

I can’t stop gushing about how great this hotel is. It is classic elegance with a peaceful open atrium in the middle adored with two openings for natural light and seating for work breakfast and contemplation. This is the opposite of a shantily constructed “modern” hotel. It has amazing 24 hour service as well as truly wonderful location right in the middle of everything. This is like quiet luxury, staying at a billionaire friends mansion. Everything just works. I hope in the future that they can tune the piano.
